Kirsten is an accounting geek who loves working with and helping both individuals and business owners. Originally she wanted to pursue a career in the medical field but, soon realized that her passion was actually in the business world. Her family encouraged her to pursue accounting, but Kirsten thought it would be "too boring". However, her extremely organized, detail oriented personality fell in love with accounting that 1st semester and her views soon changed as she discovered how interesting and useful accounting was to a business. Having strong problem solving, analyzing, and communication skills, helped Kirsten see a future in accounting. She quickly switched direction, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting from Grand Canyon University. Eight months later, hungry for knowledge and a lifelong learner, she began pursuing a Master's in Accounting, also at Grand Canyon University, and is looking forward to graduating in December of 2016. Kirsten hopes to one day obtain her CPA, and even become a certified managerial accountant (CMA).
After initially working in the corporate world, Kirsten realized her passion and skill set were better suited for the public accounting field. She enjoys and looks forward to being able to assist business owners with their accounting and payroll needs. In her eyes, the numbers tell a story and accounting merely translates it.
Kirsten was born in South Africa and moved to the US as a toddler. During her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends, reading, baking, watching comedies, and walking her adorable doggies, Macie-Belle and Mia. Additionally, whenever possible, she loves traveling (especially to the Caribbean). If you don't find her at Taxanista assisting clients, you'll find her on the beach!
